The first Monday in May won’t be as “Camp” this year, with the indefinite postponement of the Met Gala for the first time since the event’s debut in 1948, after New York’s famous Metropolitan Museum of Art was closed on March 10 due to COVID-19. Thanks to Vogue the show will go on as not even a global pandemic can get in the way of as fashion.
Vogue will livestream a tribute to the benefit on their YouTube channel, rolling out the red carpet at 10 am American EST with “The Best Red Carpet Moments” over the years. The main event “A Moment at the Met” will commence at 6pm American EST and feature a performance by ‘Florence + The Machine’, complimented with a DJ set spun by Virgil Abloh.
The 2020 theme “About Time: Fashion and Duration” was inspired by Virginia Woolf and the theories of French Philosopher Henri Bergson.

3pm American EST: “Life in Looks: Naomi Campbell”.
6 pm American EST: main event “A Moment With the Met”.
7 pm American EST: “Everything you need to know about the Met Gala”.
Vogue will announce their annual donation to ‘The Costume Institute’ and ‘A Common Thread’ organizations. Viewers will be urged to donate, no doubt alongside the celebrity would have been guests opening their wallets too.

It will be a two-day fashion fiesta with two more deep dives into he fashion archives featuring Liv Tyler, Stella McCartney, Cardi B and Jeremy Scott.

3 pm American EST: “Met Oral History: Cardi B and Jeremy Scott”.
The Costume Institute’s “About Time: Fashion and Duration” exhibit at the Met Museum has been postponed until October 29, should the COVID-19 pandemic be under control by then.
