He would join the likes of Kanye, Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott.

Exclusive sneaker deals are only made for the elite. When we talk about an exclusive sneaker deal, we don’t mean one-off collaborations. We mean Air Jordan, or Yeezy. It’s a whole new ball game for those who sign such a deal. Worth billions of dollars, and finally cemented amongst Nike’s inner circle (unless you’re Kanye).

Drake has always supported the Nike family, from exclusive drops to his personal sneaker collection. There’s been rumours that none of his entourage are even allowed to sport a pair of Adidas shoes around him.

“Yeah, keepin’ it G, I told her don’t wear no 350s ’round me.” A sneaky jab at Kanye West’s Yeezy x Adidas sneaker. It’s safe top say Drake has been a loyal servant of the swoosh tick since he started from the bottom.

According to Instagram sneaker account ZSneakerHeadz, Drake and Nike will be dropping an exclusive apparel range, as well as a sneaker to kick-off the exclusive deal in 2021. Drake has been teasing his new album, Certified Lover Boy, where there’s been various Nike pieces no one has ever seen before.

Certified Lover Boy will mark Drake’s sixth studio album and follow-up to 2018’s double album Scorpion. The multiplatinum-selling artist has already shared one single from the project called “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk.  Towards the end we see Drake sporting an unseen pink Nike bomber jacket, while a teary-eyed Drake utters the word…Baby.

Drake’s sixth studio album is set to drop at any moment, there’s even speculation the album may drop tonight, in order to be eligible for the Grammys. Should Drizzy drop his album and announce a new deal with Nike, it’s safe to say 2020 wasn’t a bad year for Drake.
