You’ve probably heard the name of this latest flick from Director/Writer Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, 2020) on the grapevine. And for good reason, too.

Starring Barry Keoghan (Eternals, 2021), Aussie heartthrob Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, since 2019) and Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, 2014), this thriller/comedy gets you vocally saying “what the f***!?” in all the right ways.

The mysterious and suspenseful story keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. And just when you might think you know where it’s going, you’ll drop your jaw and a few more f-bombs.

For the gents specifically, there’s debauchery, dark humour and nostalgic early 2000s fashion to whet your appetite. For the ladies, there’s the above plus plenty of steamy scenes with Jacob Elordi to get your hearts racing.

Plus, the movie concludes with one of the all-time great nude dance scenes – perfectly choreographed to a very relevant backing track (you’ll have to see it to know what we mean). And we have it on good authority that absolutely no prosthetics were used in this scene either… if you catch our drift (insert eggplant emoji).

The cinematography is also absolutely class from Linus Sandgren (La La Land, 2016). The 4:3 aspect ratio draws you in and sparks more nostalgia to the early 2000s. It’s clever and attractive, and perfectly complements the sets, actors and style of the film.

Add in a banging soundtrack led by MGMT, The Killers, Flo Rida and Sophie Ellis Bextor (hint for the above scene), and you’ve got yourself a bonafide baller movie that will spark plenty of conversations and discussions with your mates and co-workers for weeks.

So go ahead, open a new tab and book in to see this at your local cinema now! We don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
